Review of Wipe New Trim Restorer For Gleaming Trims
This Wipe new trim restorer was a product I found recently on Amazon and when I read the reviews it looked pretty good. It doesn’t get everyone’s approval but those people who liked it seemed to really like it a lot. That’s why I decided to check it out myself as I like to see just how good any product actually is.
This is not the greatest product ever made, but I liked it and would give it a 4 star rating which for me is pretty good. I find that when it comes to using restorers in general, most of them fail to do a really good job. Perhaps that is because you want the trims looking like new. Well I think the reality is that you really will never achieve that, so all you can do is try to make the best from them. This one is as good, if not slightly better, than most of the other ones that I have tried.
It can be used on:
It says it will last for years so no way of confirming that as I only did my application a couple of weeks ago. It did a pretty good job on a really old car and that is good enough for me to recommend at least trying it out. Like most car products this could easily be used on caravans, motor cycles or boats to spruce up tired looking interiors.
What Do You Get In The Wipe New Trim Restorer Package
You will get inside:
- 1.5 fluid ounce bottle of Wipe New Car Restorer
- Some Applicator cloths
- Headlight Prep Pad
- Detail Brush
- A pair of gloves
That is all you need to do one full application. It is fairly straightforward to apply and remove which is something that I always appreciate. Like other car polish avoid applying this in direct sunlight for best results.
As I mentioned at the beginning opinion is pretty divided on this product with 116 giving it a 5 star rating and 84 giving it only a 1 star. All I can tell you is when I used it as instructed it did the inside of my car. It looked to do a good job and I have no way of knowing how long it will last.
A few reviewers, and especially those who have been in the car detailing business, have pointed out that you must CAREFULLY follow the instructions to the letter to get the best possible results. This stuff is a liquid polymer, and for those not familiar with that, it means that if it gets on your hands it is really tough to get off. Any cloths that you use to apply this, you should also be prepared to throw out afterwards.
It smells really strong and you should avoid inhaling this product. Only use this in a highly ventilated area. Never ever get it on the paint.
This does work at getting rid of mould but it is tough stuff to work with. Its entire purpose is to make any plastic on the sills of your car look like new.
Many reviewers really hated this product, so it is worth checking them out as well. I do think though that they are maybe expecting too much from restorers in general. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though, and for me this one is as good as anything else that I have tried, and did an ok job.
