Which Is The Best Carnauba Wax?
You may hear a lot of car owners talking about Carnauba wax, so I thought we should take a look at some of best waxes on the market today. I thought it would also be a good opportunity to understand why Carnauba is a popular choice for many, and try to understand why. I hope you find this helpful and informative.
What is Carnauba Wax?
Believe it or not, this is a very popular type of wax that is found in many household products, and can also be referred to as Brazil Wax or simply as Palm Wax. As the last name would suggest the actual wax itself comes from a specific palm tree, which grows in the Northern part of Brazil. The leaves of these palm trees are cut down, dried out and then beaten to form the wax. After that they go through a process of refinement which will involve some bleaching.
Grades of Carnauba Wax
There are three grade of this wax which are T1, T2 and T4. (I have no idea what happened to T3?) It is then used in the main for car waxes, dental floss, floor polishes etc. It is also used in a lot of cosmetics as it is hypo-allergenic so popular in that industry. Many coated sweets also have an element of this wax in them. Those who smoke pipes will notice that the wood they are made from can often have a high gloss, and this is also thanks to the use of Carnauba wax. The reason for that is that in all cases the properties of this wax ensure that you get a high gloss shine. It is little wonder then, that many car owners pick this one for the optimum shine.
Manufacturers Who Use Carnauba Wax
As you can imagine all the main manufacturers in the automobile industry will use this wax in many of their products. These include:
- Chemical Guys
So as you can see, you will have plenty of choices when it comes to making your own choice, should you decide to try out a Carnauba wax for yourself. I have put together the top 10 Carnauba Waxes below based on ratings, and the number of reviews they have received. I find that it is always best to see them listed side by side, where you can easily compare and contrast them.
You will notice that prices vary from around $10 and all the way up to $40. That’s a huge variation for a paste or wax. The price really comes down to the grade of wax being used. Personally I prefer the best vale for money. If you have never tried one of these before, my advice would be to pick one of the lower priced ones and try it out.
If you like the look that gives you, then try out a more expensive one and see if it makes any major improvements.

You can, if you wish, sort this table by any measurement you like such as price or amount. I have done it by the highest rating first, but I think it is also important to include the number of reviews. The more people that buy something and rate it highly is a better indication to me, than just a few people rating a product highly.
As I mentioned earlier there are good choices to be had. Personally I would struggle with paying $40 for a wax and the one that I would recommend is either the one in position 3, which is the Mothers or the one at number 4 which is the Meguiars. Many car owners buy those and they give them excellent reviews.
I am curious of course to see if the more expensive products would do a better job, but just have not got around to doing that as yet. If and when I do, I will update this list of the best Carnauba waxes.
