Nu Finish Liquid Car Polish Review
Priced at under $10 in most of the stores, this liquid car polish from Nu Finish, gets some pretty amazing reviews. In fact many of the leading consumer magazines, that actually do tests on the different types of car polish, regularly rank this one, as their number one choice.
Nu Finish – The Once A Year Car Polish
This is how the manufacturer brands this car polish. It is as you can see a mighty big statement to make. When companies make statements like this, we are usually the first to check them out, and we did. I must admit we here at Car Polish Reviews get a little bit suspicious when we see statements like no rubbing and no buffing. Have a look at the picture below to see what we mean.
When we looked a bit closer at these statements though they started to make a little more sense. What they actually mean is no “heavy” rubbing and no heavy buffing. Now that makes more sense, if it were indeed actually true. When we checked it out, we were pretty surprised at the results. We like Meguiar products and although we are familiar with Nu Finish, we never really used them before.
It is in fact the only car polish on the market that we know that does not contain any type of wax. It can also be applied in direct sunlight so that is certainly a novel idea. It also comes in liquid form or in a paste form. Some of our guys here at the unit tried it out on their boats and one chap tried it on his precious Harley Davison bike and both were impressed with the results.
Who Are Nu Finish
They were initially the Reed-Union Corporation and they started as a company all the way back in 1929. They were based in Chicago, Illinois in the USA. They have a range of products on the market including car polish, spray detailers, car washes, protectants and scratch removers.
Clearly they are a well established company.

The fact that it doesn’t contain any wax, would mean that it should be a lot easier to buff and polish. However was as we know offers a layer of protection but Nu Finish have used zinc cross-linking polymer emulsions to do this instead. We had never heard of those so we looked it up to find out exactly what that was. Here is an in depth article on what they are.
For those who don’t have time to read the full 23 pages, here is a very brief explanation. These combine a unique structure that improves the performance of floor polishes, and provides a layer of toughness, durability, detergent resistance and removability. When you read the document all the way through, the essence of it is that the zinc and metal cross-linking offers durability and a fast drying time, and the polymers offer the high gloss. Now clearly it gets a lot more technical that that, but for our purposes, we just need to know it works and it does.
