Car Polishing Machine Reviews & Ratings
If you are considering purchasing a car polishing machine or buffer, then you should take a look at these reviews. We have tried and tested many of these and can offer you some impartial advice on what we think are the best choices. We did a quick search in an attempt to find out just how many of them were available and we found over 350 different machines, all claiming to be the best.
These car polishing machines range in price from under $25 and all the way up to $200 so as you can imagine there is a hell of a difference between what you get for your money. Essentially what these split down into is a sander and polisher, or a waxer and polisher. They are two different things so always be 100% sure what you are looking for when you make your buying decision.
What Will You Be Using The Car Polishing Machine For?
That might sound like a pretty dumb question but have a little think about this. Some people want one of these for their car, others for a lorry, van, truck and even a boat. The bigger the vehicle then the more you will need a machine to do most of the work. to be honest unless you are polishing or waxing a few cars I would never bother buying one of these at all.
However for a large truck or a boat I would and in fact I have bought one. We also use these regularly at our garage so we have tested and used many of these.
Our Top Three Car Polishing Machines
We could not review them all so we decided just to do our top three selections. These are:
- Kawasaki 840581 11 Amp 7-inch Sander and Polisher
- Neiko Professional Grade Variable Speed 7″ Car, Truck and Boat Polisher
- Meguiars Professional Dual Action Polisher
To be honest if you pick any of these three you will be more than satisfied. They all work great and they will do a good job for you. The Meguiars one is two or three times more expensive than the other two. That probably has a little to do with the brand name and unless you are going to be using this every week, there is no need to pay the extra money for that one. That said, it is the only one I would use as I am a Meguiars fan.
Kawasaki 5405 81 – 11 Amp, 7 inch Sander and Polisher Review
This one does have variable speed and any car polishing machine that you get, make sure it has this feature. This machine comes with a single rubber pad and a wool bonnet. You also get 3 adhesive back sanding discs. After that you will have to buy more pads. There are some useful pre-set speed selections which makes life a bit easier. It also uses a spindle lock which makes changing pads quicker.
The reason we like this one is that compared to many this one is light in weight.
Neiko Professional Grade Variable Speed 7″ Car, Truck and Boat Polisher
The Neiko car polisher buffer machine is a really good choice as well. It does have variable speeds and that is an important feature. They have what is called a “soft start” feature, which for nervous car owners is always a handy thing to have. It simply means it starts slowly and then builds up speed so allows you to get started with your polishing without fear of damaging the car.
To be honest I would only recommend buying this if you have a few cars to do. The investment at under $60 is not huge, but at the end of the day it is not something you will use every week. It is handy to have and it gets decent reviews on Amazon

Meguiars Professional Dual Action Polisher
If you have read many of my reviews then you know I am a Meguiars fan. Therefore it will be no surprise when I say I believe this one is the best car polishing machine on the market. Let’s be honest, it is a best seller on Amazon and it is because it is a top of the line machine. It is also the most expensive and I guess, you just get what you pay for.
This machine allows you to do compounding, polishing and waxing with the minimum amount of work. It has a dual action with both rotational and orbital patterns that really improves the results when compared to other car polishing machines. The dual action means the pads move in two directions which is really great for ensuring no swirl marks are left behind.
Here is a really good video on how to go about using this polisher.
I hope that you found this review of car polishing machines helpful and useful. We will continue to update this as and when we find any polishers that we think are better.
