Car Polisher Buffer Reviews – Top 3 Sellers on Amazon
In this article we have reviewed the top 3 car polisher buffers on the market today. To buff or not to buff, that is the question? I know many people don’t like to use a car polisher buffer on their car, as they fear it may damage their vehicle. The reason for that fear is well founded for a couple of reasons. For some strange reason, people either buy a cheap buffer or worse still, in my opinion, buy a flimsy attachment that they can use on their drill.
My strong advice is to never ever buy a cheap buffer as that will eventually either fall apart or ruin the paint on your car. The drill option I have covered in a separate article, which you can read by clicking here.
If you have read about me on this website you will know that I have been valeting cars for years. I know how to make a car look as if it has just come out of the showroom as I take huge pride in my work. I use a car polisher buffer all the time and on every car with one exception.
I don’t use them on vintage cars that are worth crazy money and that is just in case I would make a mistake. I have valeted a lot of old vintage cars and for the owners it is more about the emotional ownership than the value for many. Many owners treat their cars better than their children. So just to be safe I hand polish these.
Benefits Of A Car Polisher Buffer
In the main though I use a buffer polisher everyday on cars, and if you buy the right one then they are great as they save you an enormous amount of time. They also bring up a proper showroom shine that you just do not get with hand buffing. I have tried numerous times to create the same shine by hand as I can with a buffer and have never managed that yet.
I guess the question is which are the best ones to buy and use. I have listed below my top three that cover different price ranges depending on what you can afford. These buffers are also Ideal for polishing any automotive and marine projects. The key benefits then are that these polisher buffers will save you time and create a proper showroom shine. Below I have listed what I think are the top three polishing buffers on the market right now.
The Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher Buffer
The Porter-Cable 7424XP 6-inch polisher features a 4.5 amp motor for high overload protection and random orbit. It comes with a 6-inch polishing pad.
It provides what the manufacturers call a swirl-free sanding/polishing action by using the electronic variable-speed dial. The 7424XP accepts 5/16 to 24 spindle thread accessories.
It is suitable to use with a 6-inch sanding/polishing pad, and it features a two-position (left or right) removable side handle for greater comfort and control. The polisher measures 11.5 x 10.5 x 6 inches (LxWxH).
This is the one I use myself and it is just great. It has one very important feature which is variable speed and this one ranges from 2,500-6,800 opm which is more than enough. It weighs just under 6 lbs and that’s important. Many of them are just too heavy and after a while that can make a big difference.
It has a 3-year limited warranty that covers defects with faulty materials or workmanship There is a free 1-year service contract where this company will maintain the tool and replace any worn parts.
This product comes with the random orbit polisher, a polishing pad, the side handle and a wrench. It is a great product for detailing and especially if you have more than one car. It is great at removing light scratches as well. It is a powerful machine and removes any type of oxidisation.
Many polishers are difficult to hold and they bounce about quite a lot. You won’t have that problem when you use this one as it is very well balanced. Many people also use this product for their boats and I have used it on a few myself and it does a great job.

Makita Electronic Polisher-Sander with Polishing Kit
This is an extremely popular choice for a whole lot of people. The brand name Maikta is one that has really taken off and I have to say I like their products a lot. I have used a few of their drills and they are also pretty good. One of the members of our car club swears by this machine and if I didn’t own the one above then I would be tempted to go with this one.
I have used his and one super feature this one has is what is called ultra slow polishing. It is a pretty neat feature especially for first time users of a polisher sander. It is a fast and a powerful small machine but has a powerful 10 Amp motor. In the main it is a polisher but it is simple to change it quickly to a sander.
As it is electronically controlled it maintains a nice constant speed even when you are pushing down on it. A neat little feature is the lock-on button which when you find a speed you like, you just click the button and it maintains that speed. It weighs around 6.5 lbs so again not hard to hold up with your arms.
Meguiar’s Professional Dual Action Polisher
Again if you have read much of this website you will know I like a lot of Meguiar’s products. This polisher is for the professional and I have used this one in my business. You are moving into a class of its own when you are using this one. This is version 2 of the G110 polisher and they have made a lot of improvements when compared to the original.
The torque actually increases on this one when you push down on it and that’s just great. It has a rotary variant speed range of 1800-6800 obm so again very impressive. Not many other brands can match these features and if you can afford this one, then just buy it. It is the same as most professional rotary buffers in that they make things both easy and quick to change, like the pads, brush changes etc.
Comes with a soft buff backing plate and even has a soft edge to prevent any potential paint damage. Meguiars do think of most thins and they have proved it once again with this great machine.
I believe that these are the best car polishers and buffers available on the market today, and they are all in the affordable range. I hope that you have found these to be useful.
